Members elect FY14/FY15 Arc Carroll County Board

Arc Carroll County members elected new officers and directors Tuesday night during the annual membership meeting at The Arc Carroll County in Westminster.
Sherri-Le W. Bream and Doug C. Myers joined The Arc Carroll County board as a director for FY14/FY15. His term will start on July 1.

Bream is Director of High Schools for Carroll County Public Schools. Bream has been an educator for 39 years. Most of her career has been spent working with Carroll County students. She has served as principal at both Winters Mill High School and Westminster High School. Bream holds a bachelor’s of science degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a master’s degree in biology from the University of California-Humbolt. She earned her certification in education administration from McDaniel College. Bream and her husband, Robert, live in Westminster. They have a daughter.

Myers is President and CEO of The Asbury Foundation in Gaithersburg. Myers has also served on the board of the Carroll County District of the American Red Cross and on The Carroll County Public School Foundation. Myers holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Gettysburg College. Myers and his wife, Ellen Finnerty-Myers, live in Mt. Airy. They have four children.

Don Rowe, The Arc’s executive director, welcomes the latest additions to The Arc’s board.

“I am excited with the level of expertise, compassion and knowledge of our officers and directors,” Rowe said. “The Arc is embarking on several meaningful projects that will further our ability to provide great services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I’m looking forward to working with the board this year in positioning The Arc as one of the leading organizations in our community.”

Bream and Myers, who will serve two year terms, join the following officers and directors on The Arc’s board:

• Rob Burk _ Carroll County Government Treasurer

• Sherri Chavis _ Immediate Past President, Parent

• Lou Salafia _ International Financial Services

Carroll County Judge Barry Hughes installed the officers and directors at the conclusion of the annual meeting. The new officers and directors begin their terms on July 1.

The Arc Carroll County provides services a variety of services including: housing, support services, vocational training and transportation for about 700 children and adults in Carroll County with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
