Arc offers spring line-up of Autism Courses

Are you ready for the next round of progress?

 

The Arc Carroll County is now accepting applications for our spring semester of autism courses.

 

The spring semester of courses will include:

 

  • Creative Writing: The class is designed to explore the imagination through fictional and non-fictional works. The class also will teach how to write biographies, short-stories, plays and poetry. Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The course lasts 10 weeks.

 

  • Game Group: The class will focus on socialization through the use of computers and gaming techniques. Participants will learn different media skills as well as engaging in Live Action Role Play. Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The course lasts 10 weeks.

 

  • Barrier-Free Theatre: The class is an all-inclusive theatre program for adults with autism. Participants come together to create original one act plays. The play will be performed for friends and family at the end of the course. Friday evenings 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The course lasts 11 weeks.

 

  • Job Hunters: This class is designed to help adults with autism enter the workforce with the skills they need to succeed. Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The course lasts 10 weeks. *some individuals may qualify for funding through the Division of Rehabilitation Services.

 

Classes begin February 9th at The Arc Carroll County. Each class is $200. However, The Arc is offering a 25 percent discount, if individuals register before January 30th.
